Summer Internship Opportunity for St. Paul Students!

This is an awesome opportunity to do something that's fun and interesting while making a difference and learning a TON! Plus, you get paid for it :) So check this out:


Who: St. Paul Neighborhood Network (SPNN) Youth Programs 2009 and

 St.Paul high school students

    Intern Qualifications:

  • Entering 9th-12th grade in the fall of 2009
  • Attend high school in St. Paul
  • Reside in the city of St. Paul
  • Have little to no video experience
  • Be interested in exploring community issues through video production

What: Youth Intern Program 2009: Paid internship program where St. Paul high school students work with mentors, and each other, to make meaningful media (videos and such) about community issues.

During this intensive training program interns will make Public Service Announcements and documentaries about community issues.  Interns will learn video camera operation, interviewing, research skills and much more! SPNN is the cable access provider in St. Paul broadcasting on 5 channels on the cable network. 

When: July 20th - August 28th (4 hours a day, 4 days a week)

Why: The 3 main objectives of the program are as follows:

§         Develop Video Production Skills

§         Build Community Awareness and Civic Engagement

§         Increase Work Readiness Skills

 

Other important information:

  • Bus passes will be included  
  • After successful completion of the SPNN Youth Summer Internship, each intern will receive 2 elective high school credits and a stipend.
