Students at St. Cloud State are big fans of the fruit water offered at the Hydration Station in their dining hall. The school says they drink about 150 gallons of it every day! They've discovered a way to stay healthy by drinking water, but satisfying their taste buds at the same time. Pretty sweet idea, huh?
The school's food services are provided by a company called Sodhexo Inc., who helped make the fruit water at SCSU possible. Mark Zimmer, the director of dinging services at the university got the idea after visiting a hotel in Texas. Since bringing the idea back to Minnesota, students have been introduced to a healthier alternative to soft drinks and they've definitely latched on. He says using the clear dispenser method makes the beverages more visually appealing as well.

Some of the flavors offered include:
- Lemon
- Cucumber
- Mint
- Grapefruit
- Apple
- Lime
- Kiwi
*Sounds pretty delicious, huh?
Due to the success of fruit water at St. Cloud State, Sedexo is considering taking the idea to a national level; spreading the deliciously healthy thirst quenching beverage to students and people across the country.

Do It Yourself: Try cutting up your favorite fruit (herb or vegetable if you're feeling adventurous!) and put it in some ice water. Give the fruit a chance to settle in the water and spread its juices. Then presto, you've got your very own fruit water!
