Sorry for the delay everyone! It's been a busy few weeks for Catalyst - with the Freedom to Breathe Act celebrating its first anniversary on October 1, 2008, and the Catalyst Youth board Retreat October 10-12, 2008.
We had a blast celebrating Freedom to Breathe across the state. Catalyst youth board member Nikki Bunnell and adult board member Alicia Bauman collaborated on a Freedom to Breathe anniversary celebration in St. Cloud (see photos below).
Catalyst worked with Apollo High School's Target group and SMoke-free Central MN, to display luminary bags with stories from across central MN about how amazing Freedom to Breathe has been for MN residents. The luminaries were displayed at St. Cloud Hospital on September 30th, and then again at the St. Cloud Civic Center on October 1st and 2nd, as part of the Minnesota Prevention Resource Center's annual program sharing conference.
Nikki Bunnell was also a presenter at the conference, leading a workshop about Catalyst's Killer Quotes campaign and other opportunities to get involved in the Catalyst movement.
And that's not all!
Catalyst members in Elbow Lake organized a Freedom to Breathe Anniversary Party at their annual homecoming game game on October 3rd. Saty tuned for photos and a more detailed blog post soon!
And youth board member Mariah Geiger collaborated with Smoke-free Dakota County to host Smoke-Free In Symblos: A Creative Expression Challenge. An art contest and Freedom to Breathe celebration held on October 17th. More to come on this event too . . .
