Catalyst to Celebrate Food Day with Teen Activism Kits!

created at: 2011/10/13

On October 24, America will be celebrating the first ever Food Day, a day akin to Earth Day in April. Food Day seeks to bring together people from all walks of life, to push for healthy, affordable food produced in a sustainable, humane way.

In honor of Food Day, people across the nation are putting on a variety of events, and Catalyst wanted to take part in the fun. So we are! We are sending out activism kits to youth across the state to use in their schools.

Get an activism kit!

The kits will consist of t-shirts, sidewalk chalk stencils, posters and more fun stuff. All will tout the message of "Liquid Lies," a slogan created by our youth board to communicate the empty promises of soda marketers, when really, soda is bad for you and youth drink way too much of it.

We would love to have more people join in on the Food Day fun, and the fight to lower obesity by drinking less soda. If you're interested in having a kit sent to you, contact me at Colleen@bethecatalyst.com. We'd be more than happy to get you involved!

Put our poster on your Facebook wall!

You can download the graphic above here, and then post it to your wall with this message.

Soda promises sweet happiness, but in reality, it may bring the bitter opposite. Research demonstrates that risk of obesity skyrockets 60% for each additional sugary drink consumed a day. Obesity brings about diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Don’t believe the liquid lies. Skip the soda.
