We are looking for 5 new students to join the Catalyst youth board, and YOU could be one of them!
Youth Board members help plan the Catalyst summit, other fun events, and travel the state with Catalyst staff to help present workshops and trainings. Awesome, right?
Bottom line, the Youth Board is a big deal! It's a great opportunity, but ladies and gentlemen it is also a commitment. Here's an idea of some of the roles and responsibilities - read through, and if it sounds rockin', APPLY!
- Must be entering into 9-12 grade. This is a year long commitment and you must be in high school to participate.
- Must attend the Youth Board Meetings!
- July 28th 2010 we will be holding a stellar planning meeting in Minneapolis, be ready to start planning Catalyst's School Tour!
- August 21-22, 2010 and January 14-16, 2011 will be official Youth Board Training - these meetings are essential, and always filled with extreme fun. (Catalyst will provide meals, lodging, etc., all you need to do is get yourself there!)
- We're mixing it up this year - our annual Summit will be held on April 8-10, 2011 so be ready to attend that!
- Call-in to Youth Board conference calls (usually every other month, scheduled on an evening or weekend)
- Organize and host Catalyst events in your community, as well as taking a leading role in Catalyst's regional and statewide trainings
- Things such as the Summit and occasional mini-Summit. Need info? Check out www.bethecatalyst.org for all the details!
- Volunteer to give presentations with Catalyst staff at events across the state
- Post materials on the Catalyst website and maintain an active profile (you can sign up and create a Catalyst profile at www.bethecatalyst.org if you don't have one already)
- Respond to emails and phone calls from Catalyst staff and other youth board members in a timely manner
Sound awesome?? Download the application and send it back to Andy at andy@bethecatalyst.org
