New do commercials take aim at obesity
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota r ecently gathered inspiring stories from people across Minnesota who lost weight through physical activity and healthy eating. The goal? To feature them in our new do campaign TV commercials as a way to inspire others to pursue their weight management goals. The campaign is part of Blue Cross’ aggressive efforts to curb and reverse the state’s obesity epidemic.
We chose six Minnesotans to appear in the commercials which began airing November 30th. TJ from Bemidji and Kathleen from Millville lost more than 100 and nearly 200 lbs. respectively, by moving more and eating better. Others to be featured in the coming weeks hail from Buffalo, Columbia Heights, Montgomery and New Hope. With approximately two-thirds of Minnesota adults overweight or obese – 2.4 million people – these stories have the potential to motivate others to regain their health and quality of life.
