So my friend Matt is really "into" history. Like "read really old newspaper for sport" into history. He found this old newspaper from Frederick Maryland in 1966. It reads:
"A researcher has discovered evidence that dosing cigarettes with vitamin A nullifies the effects of suspected cancer-producing agents in tobacco smoke."
and then went on to say...
"Not only could it make cigarettes safe, it could make them positively healthy, because the vitamin A in the smoke might also help counteract the polluted air that is breathed in by everybody, puffers and nonpuffers alike."
Then the journalist got real excited and said we can do that with alcohol too, then he just starts rambling. It's good for a quick laugh. Thanks Matt

A researcher has discovered evidence that dosing cigarettes with vitamin A nullifies the effects of suspected cancer-producing agents in tobacco smoke. Tobacco companies are keeping their fingers crossed. Not only could it make cigarettes safe, it could make them positively healthy, because the vitamin A in the smoke might also help counteract the polluted air that is breathed in by everybody, puffers and nonpuffers alike.
If science can make cigarettes healthy, it should be easy to do the same with alcohol. In fact,
one wonders why the minimum daily vitamin requirement for adults has not been added to liquor long before this. Or imagine a protein - rich cocktail. Cigarettes and whiskey. Now if only there were some way to tame those wild, wild wimmen. It makes a nice pipe dream, anyway.
